Family Fun on the Commons • Friday, June 4 & Saturday, June 5

Visit our Family Fun area in Bank Alley for extensive arts and crafts, storytelling, performances and more! Get your face painted and check out our bounce-houses. Local organizations will also be on hand to entertain and maybe teach you something new. Nate  juggling

  • Kid's Crafts Tent - Enjoy a variety of exciting crafts and take home your finished project - make a festival hat, paint a mural or create a paper mosaic! This year we've added a brand new hands-on play area for the extra little ones.
  • Cayuga Nature Center - Explore the wonders of the natural world. Learn how we can spread environmental awareness to protect our animal neighbors living in the wild.
  • Family Reading Partnership - Storytelling and book-making! Write a story, draw pictures and put your name on the cover.
  • Cornell Physics Department - Hands-on physics fun! Enjoy interactive stories, exciting demonstrations and a variety of science toys.

Family Fun at Stewart Park • Sunday, June 6

Come back on Sunday for the third day of the Kid's Crafts Tent, bounce-houses and fun for all ages! Other activities will be provided by local favorites and will only be available on Sunday.

  • Name Art - Have your name written in Russian, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Egyptian Hieroglyphics or even Braille!
  • Make Friends by Radio Near and Far - Learn how to use a portable radio station with the Tompkins County and Cornell University Amateur Radio Clubs.
  • Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) - The Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA, is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts, skills, and traditions of pre-17th-century Europe. Members of the SCA will present a variety of activities available all day: live fencing and fight demos, archery, costuming, music, dance, and more including these kids crafts and games: Braided Cords, Weaving, Illuminated Manuscripts, Safety Archery, Beat Up the Knight, Peasant Pull (one-on-one tug-a-war), Hobby Horse Jousting, Giant Hopscotch and Make and Take board games.
